The acceptance of defeat by the President to the opposition signifies some level of maturity on the democratic process in Nigeria. One cannot help but probe into the quick concur by the President when most people were expecting some form of resistance attributed to polling fraud and unfairness. I must give kudos to the chairman of the electoral commission; he was firm when he needed to be firm. The saying that goes, ”Not all that glitters is Gold” will unfold as the transition process begins. I sense the president is running away – Could it be that the president was tired of governing, or has nothing more to offer Nigerians or the suffering economy coupled with the inept armed forces that could not even manage Nigeria’s sovereignty in the face of Boko Haran. Perhaps it is epidemic corruption in the country, which he is part of, that is scaring him. We will find out soon.
