Yes, brand names directly affect the price of goods and services. But should they be banned or their prices controlled? I would say NO because we live in a free market society where the size of your profit is driven by your business strategies and decisions. Apart from some specialized brands like drugs and medicine, other branded products should be challenged by non-branded products. It is possible to price your brand out of the market. Think this through; it took money, time and sacrifices to establish a brand name. There should be benefits to brand name owners. If it is easy everybody would have a brand to their name.
